HW-8 Autobiography - sydney

 

In New Jersey there is a silent war over a sandwich. It is called the Taylor Ham vs Pork Roll war. Often Northern New Jerseyians call the sandwich, Taylor Ham while Southern New Jerseyians call it Pork Roll. People in NJ can tell where someone is from based off how they order the sandwich. 

Although my hometown is not near the beach, my home state has many beaches and beautiful waters. This is Toms River, NJ. Often I visit the beach over the summer and stay at a shore house or visit for a day. 

Also in Toms River, I used to run regional track meets when I was in high school. 

A new quarantine hobby of mine is jumping rope. I used to suck at it, but made it a habit to jump rope 5 days a week. 

Working out is a huge part of my life, I work out five times a week. And throughout quarantine I could keep this routine because I have a home gym. 

Also during quarantine, I started a small business named Chichicana selling vintage clothes online. The inventory is located in a room in my basement along with packaging and I love the business.

For the business, I source clothing items that are rare and vintage. I thrift, source online or go to flea markets/garage sales. This is something I really enjoyed thinking up during quarantine and I hope I can continue as a side hustle.

My dad is owner of a contracting business named Morgan Contractors. He works at home sometimes for the business and the kitchen - despite having an office - is his place to work on contracts. 

I work for my dad part time running the social media and administrative tasks for the business. 

My boyfriend Andy Pineda, a senior at University of Maryland.

He is home for the semester as well, but often drives from Pennsylvania to visit me,
